What spices are in guacamole seasoning?
- salt - I use kosher but sea salt or regular table salt will work just fine.
- onion powder - One of the spices I am never without! I buy it in the wholesale club container for recipes like these.
- garlic powder - see above
- ground cumin- ground cumin is made from roasted cumin seeds and found in a lot of Mexican dishes as well as lots of curry dishes
- cayenne pepper - cayenne pepper is ground, dried chili peppers. It has a kick of heat.

How to make homemade guacamole seasoning:
- Measure out all the spices.
- Add the guacamole spices to a glass mason jar or other airtight containers.
- Close the container and shake to combine.
Guacamole seasoning making tips:
- use a funnel to get all the ingredients into the mason jar. This is not necessary if you are not as messy as I am!
- Mix all ingredients in a jar, then give the jar a good shake. I’d recommend shaking the jar to mix the ingredients well before each use.
- write the directions on the lid for easy refrence. Yes folks, just me and a sharpie marker.
To make guacamole:
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1 tablespoon of above mix
- 1 tablespoon of fresh minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon of lime juice
