While the 2024 NBA Draft -- scheduled for Wednesday, June 26 -- doesn't feature anyone of Victor Wembanyama's caliber, it's still generated plenty of intrigue. Like the NFL Draft, it's a fun event with no winners or losers, but plenty for bettors to tackle.

This one works the way it sounds. The top candidates, even in a year like this one without a consensus favorite, have the shortest odds, while the long shots to go to Atlanta at No. 1 (assuming the Hawks keep that pick) have longer odds.

At No. 1, French wing Zaccaharie Risacher is heavily favored to go ahead of UConn big man Donovan Clingan. Alexandre Sarr, another French prospect, has an outside chance of being the first name called by Adam Silver on Wednesday night, while UConn guard Stephon Castle and Kentucky guard Reed Sheppard have even longer odds to be the first player taken.

Top 3 Draft Picks Exact Order
Sportsbooks offer the option to bet on the first three players who will be drafted. The payout on these bets are substantial because they only cash if all three picks are correct.
For example, at DraftKings, "1st-Risacher; 2nd-Sarr; 3rd-Sheppard" is -160, while all the other options are +400 or longer, starting with "1st-Clingan; 2nd-Sarr; 3rd-Sheppard" at +400.

If you want to bet on whether a player will be taken before or after, say, the second pick, or any other spot in the draft, you're in luck. Sportsbooks like FanDuel offer markets for a number of players.
